The 13th Castle, written by Australian author Timothy John Groth and published by Mary Celeste Press, was inspired by the recent concept of viral ideas that cascade on the internet. While most of these viral episodes are genuine incidents, harmless pranks, or clever advertising gimmicks, there is the potential for a lot of harm by malicious use of this phenomena, and a lot of harm has been done by a techo-savvy few either manipulating the truth. Once a misrepresentation of the truth has started rolling, a large amount of damage can be done before it can be brought to rest. Just think of 'The Search For Weapons Of Mass Destruction'.

In The 13th Castle, a not-too-distant future is in the last stages of an extended semi-global conflict, and in this cauldron, when someone plays fast and loose with the truth, the ensuing runaway reaction proves very hard to stop for those caught in the middle.
